Aldonna
It's easy to pinpoint why Aldonna's becoming a local favourite: her sets are physically spontaneous, an uplifting affair that borders on the highly contagious. Drawing inspiration from peers like Octo Octa, Eris Drew, and Peach, her ability to drift in and out of house, techno, breaks, and trance is impressive; however, what elevates her is an innate ability to find lost old-school classics from the '90s and '00s. It's that versatility that led to Novel approaching her at the start of 2021 to be the warm-up DJ for Papa Smurf's three sold-out shows at Bourke Street Courtyard. That call-up can be filed away alongside bookings supporting local luminaries like Myles Mac, Brian Fantana, Late Nite Tuff Guy, X CLUB. and Willaris K. She recently made her first foray into music production too, already producing tracks that are stand out moments in her own DJ sets. It's only a matter of time before Aldonna elevates herself from a warm-up booking to a bonafide headliner.
